This is also good to know to get ready for the fall garden. Which is one of the best times for beginners to learn how to garden. The biggest reason is the pest pressure will be very low. Here is the list of things to plant in August: cucumbers, basil, tomatoes, dill, pole beans, bush beans, and squash. There are probably more crops to Plant. I am going to plant a cantaloupe but I’m pushing the envelope. Planting tomatoes can be done but you need to pick varieties that produce tomatoes quickly.
