How to Over Winter Pepper Plants? 🌶 🌶 🌶

In this video I show how to overwinter pepper plants in the cold months. This means for some, you will need to keep the pepper plants inside. If your area gets a frost the pepper plants must be brought inside. When overwintering the plant we are treating them as perennial peppers. This means the plant can live for several years and they do live as perennials in tropical places. I am overwintering bell peppers and Hungarian peppers for the winter. Bringing pepper plants are not limited to these pepper plants because any pepper plant can be overwintered. Pruning the peppers is a must and the plant will look like a stick because all the leaves will need to be cut. pruning the roots is also a must. One of the most important garden tips is to use a sterile potting mix to pot up the plant. This will decrease the chances of bringing pest in your home. After transplanting the peppers it is important to give the plants a drink of water. Overwintering pepper plants will give you a tremendous jump start on growing fruit when the plants are place back outside in the spring.
