In this video, I show how to grow corn at home. I love the taste of fresh backyard corn, especially the time it’s picked. Growing corn from starts is what I did. The seeds were planted in a tray inside the house. This makes spacing easy when I plant them outside. This takes the poor germination in the plot out of the picture. In the video, I also give tips for growing corn like making sure the plants are fed properly. Corn plants are heavy feeders and it’s important to make sure they get lots of nitrogen. Growing corn can be hit or miss, especially for me. Sometimes I get great corn and other times it can be rough. Watering the corn plants is also critical, currently, we are in a drought. The corn fields look bad in our area and farmers are losing a lot of corn. I’m growing sweet corn in a raised bed and that means I have to water even more. Raised beds dry out because they are elevated.
