In this video, I’m taking you through my journey of starting tomato and pepper seeds indoors using a simple set-up in solo cups. I’m using a grow light and a heating mat to create the perfect environment for seed germination, even when the temperatures are still chilly. This method helps ensure that my seedlings get the warmth and light they need to develop strong roots and healthy leaves right from the start.

I’m excited to be growing two types of tomatoes—large cherry and beefsteak—as well as two varieties of peppers: spicy cayenne and sweet bell peppers. I carefully plant the seeds in solo cups and keep them under the grow light to mimic the sun’s energy, while the heating mat provides consistent warmth. Once the weather permits and the risk of frost is over, I’ll be transferring these little plants outdoors into my garden, giving them room to grow into full, vibrant plants.
