Attorney REACTS: The Most Reckless Getaway Attempt You’ll Ever See

On July 24th, 2023, what began as a simple traffic stop in Milwaukee spiraled into one of the most dangerous, high-speed pursuits of the year. A Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle with no license plate, but instead of stopping, the driver floored the accelerator—launching officers into a chaotic, multi-mile chase across the city.

Dashcam and radio audio reveal the driver pushing speeds of 70 to 85 miles per hour through city streets, blowing red lights, weaving into oncoming lanes, and narrowly missing other vehicles and even a cyclist. Officers remained calm and coordinated over the radio while additional units deployed spike strips and attempted to contain the fleeing vehicle. Despite multiple opportunities to stop, the driver kept escalating, even barreling the wrong way up freeway ramps as traffic yielded in panic.

At one point, the suspect cut through a parking lot, circled back onto major roads, dodged spike strips, and continued racing through construction zones and intersections. The pursuit finally ended when the vehicle slammed into a concrete wall with enough force to lift the car off the ground and ignite the engine compartment.

Officers rushed in to pull the injured occupants away from the burning vehicle. As firefighters worked to contain the blaze, deputies discovered far more than reckless driving—finding a handgun, ammunition, scales, and multiple baggies inside the vehicle. What officers learned next about the driver and passenger turned the case in an entirely new direction.
