Are you ready to grow your own sweet potatoes? Join me as I embark on my very first journey of growing sweet potato slips! In this video, I’ll show you how I plant sweet potatoes directly in soil to produce slips. With the help of a heating mat and a grow light, I’m creating the perfect warm and bright environment to encourage the sweet potatoes to sprout those vibrant, leafy slips. It’s an exciting start to a rewarding gardening process, and I can’t wait to see how it goes!

Once the slips are ready, I’ll carefully remove them from the sweet potatoes and plant them in grow bags. Grow bags are ideal for growing sweet potatoes because they allow for proper drainage and prevent the roots from becoming waterlogged. Plus, they’re perfect for maximizing space in small gardens or patios. I’m hoping this method will help me grow healthy, delicious sweet potatoes by summer. Fingers crossed!
