In this short, I show how to prune watermelons. Once the watermelon has set on the vine, I go just past the melon and cut the vine. This technique will encourage the growth of that melon. Pruning the vine ensures that no other watermelon will set on that vine past that melon. Having more than one melon on the vine will take more energy. This will cause both watermelons to be smaller. During this short, I placed an onion bulb and a tennis ball beside the melon for size reference. The question is will the watermelon grow larger? Part 2 of this short will happen next week 7 days from now. Watermelon pruning is just like magic. Hopefully, this test will show the benefits of pruning watermelons.
