In this video, I’m talking about how to grow cucumbers. There are two types of cucumbers pickling and slicing cucumbers. The slicing cukes are used in salads, and we pickle the other ones, of course. You can direct sow the seeds, but I like to plant my seeds indoors. I like putting mature plants outside to help fight against the cucumber beetle. I also like to plant a trap crop to get those bugs away from my fruits and vegetables. This crop also works for the squash bug. When planting, I put worm casting in the planting hole, and I put mycos on the roots. This will help make stronger roots and have stronger plants. The plant will take up more nutrients as well. Lastly I like to trellis some of my cucumber plants to help avoid slugs and other bugs that are on the ground. This will give me some protection from the bug pressure.
