In this video I talk about how to water watermelon plants. There are a few options when it comes to watering your plants. I like to water my plants early in the morning. This may limit the chance of encouraging the growth of fungus. When the leaves are wet in the morning the heat of the day will dry the leaves. Watering in the heat of the day could pose issues for the plant. Drip irrigation is a great way to water the plants. The water is going to the base of the plant and deep watering is happening. This also encourage the roots to go deeper. In the experiment I am only watering the watermelon plant at the time of planting. The woodchips will help the plant survive as well as when it rains. The woodchips will act as a sponge to release water when it is needed in the heat of the day. Will the plant survive or will the plant die?
